Basement Crack Repair

CrackStop provides both interior and exterior basement crack repair. We recommend the method that best fits your home, your basement, and the actual problem.

Two Methods. One Decision.

We Offer Both Interior and Exterior Repair

The right method depends on the crack, the home, access conditions, and your priorities. We assess your situation honestly and recommend what makes the most sense — not what's easiest or most expensive for us.

Interior Repair

Interior Crack Injection

Crack injection seals the wall from inside using epoxy or polyurethane resin — no excavation, no yard disruption. The crack is cleaned, injected through the full wall depth, and permanently sealed.

  • No excavation required
  • Completed in hours
  • Significantly less expensive in most cases
  • Works well when exterior access is limited
  • Year-round — not weather dependent

Exterior Repair

Exterior Crack Repair

Exterior repair involves excavating alongside the foundation wall to access the crack from outside, applying waterproofing membrane directly to the wall surface. The right choice in specific situations.

  • No interior disruption to drywall or finishing
  • Addresses crack and waterproofing membrane together
  • Better when exterior access is unobstructed
  • May suit heavily finished basements
  • Allows inspection of the exterior wall face

How We Decide Which Method to Recommend

Basement finish level

Heavily finished basements can make exterior repair less disruptive.

Exterior access

Decks, patios, or tight clearances can rule out excavation.

Crack type & condition

Some crack types are better suited to a specific method.

Water involvement

Active or recurring leaks may influence which method seals more reliably.

Budget

Interior injection is typically significantly less expensive.

Homeowner priorities

Minimal disruption? Maximum exterior protection? That shapes the call.
